We
need water for almost anything we do. It's getting scarce,
it's getting bottled, it's metered and we have to pay for it,
whether you like it or not! An invaluable part of the earth
that we can live without, that someday might be gone!
How
will Dickerson Florida control the dust? Normally, if you have
been to a mining company, truckloads of water are being dumped
or sprayed on unpaved bare road to minimize dust in the field,
which drains down the ground and some of the water particles
evaporates into the air. Some trucks would probably have leaking
transmission oil, engine oil or any petroleum products. You
see how well those dump trucks are being taken care of! If
they are going to use this kind of technique, think how much
water do they need to constantly do this while in operation
especially during rainless days?
According
to a lot of sources & publications, overpumping of water
to keep the pit void of water is the main environmental destructive
activity in limestone mining. So what does 24 x7/week of dewatering (sucking
water out of the ground) means?
